What’s the best way to promote a lifestyle rather than using celebrities or public figures? People always look up to them for the newest style, whether it’s in the terms of fashion, health, branded items, gadgets, etc. PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) knew this for so long, that’s why they often use actress like Gao Yuanyuan to promote vegetarian lifestyle.
In June 2011, Chinese actress Gao Yuanyuan dressed with lettuce and cabbage with red chilli necklace for the newest PETA campaign ads. PETA concerns about the increasing of meat consumption in China in the recent years. Jason Baker from PETA said that China’s consumption of meat has quadrupled over the last four decades, resulting in a number of health problems.
As a devoted vegetarian herself, PETA thought that Gao Yuanyuan will be the perfect role model to encourage China people to reduce eating meat, both for health’s sake and for animal’s rights.
One of the most popular Asian models Gao Yuanyuan has been vegetarian for more than two years and is gradually discovering vegetarianism in depth. “At first, I might only have had a vague idea of the diet, but after turning vegetarian, I started to look more into healthy eating. I have posted all kinds of notes on healthy eating around my house, and I am improving my cooking skills through trial and error.” said Guo, quoted from PETA website.
In the age of 32, Gao Yuanyuan definitely still looks fine, probably thanks to her vegetarian lifestyle. Check out her pics in lettuce and cabbage gown below:
